The month of April is a welcome sight after a New England winter. It holds the hope that from that pile of leaves will spring a cluster of wildflowers; a clump of barren twigs will sprout leaves and develop into a flowering shrub; the green spiral at the end of a fuzzy stem will unwind into a intricate multi-cut fern. Sunrise stirs the winter moisture lurking in the ground into a fog that the morning dissipates into a blue sky day. Mornings seem to linger and the still low slanting sun illuminates the warm promise of the day.
These are some of the things that I have tried to capture in my photographs. Perhaps some of the hope embedded in the sights of spring will make its way to the viewers of this collection.
