10th Anniversary of “One Door Closes: Overcoming Adversity By Following Your Dreams”
April 29, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Join us for the 10th Anniversary of One Door Closes: Overcoming Adversity By Following Your Dreams by Tom Ingrassia & Jared Churdimsky.
Tom Ingrassia will be in the store to talk about the inspiring stories of 16 people from all walks of life featured in this book (many of whom live in Central MA) who have overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles in order to live into their dreams. Also sharing their stories are Scherrie Payne (Formerly of The Supremes), June Monteiro of The Toys, and the late Mary Wilson of The Supremes, who wrote the Epilogue for the book. Through their powerful, first-person stories, these dreamers share a road map guiding the reader to discover how to live their life with vision, courage, determination and passion. One Door Closes was named the Best Self Help Book by The New England Book Festival, and was a Finalist in the National Indie Excellence Awards. One reviewer wrote, “…a compilation to assure that you deserve to live your dreams, and a nurturing step-by-step guidebook to show you how to get there….”
First published in 2013, One Door Closes is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. It is currently being adapted as a documentary film, One Door Closes: Korey’s Courage, which will have its premiere in Worcester in September.
