Over the years she and the owner have had had a symbiotic relationship that represents support of local art and a donation from every sale to the Webster Dudley Food Share. It is a great way to support what our community needs and still be able to show her work. The paintings at Hometown Bank were also commissioned to her.  She is referred to as the “Lake Artist” with many on and around beautiful Webster Lake. She has Giclee prints of 5 favorites available in a variety of sizes such as the well-known painting “Gas Dock”. Living on the lake offers an endless opportunity for an artist. Consignment work\, special requests\, house portraits and donations to many local non-profit fund raisers keep Linda busy at her home studio where she resides with her life partner John Lefebvre and their rescue dog Darla. Linda is encouraged to paint more than ever as her granddaughter Hadley wants to be an artist like “Grammy”. There is no better incentive/ compliment to get!  \nLinda just received acceptance in two prestigious regional shows at Hopkinton Arts Center and Rhode Island Water Color Society where she has been a long-standing Artist member.

SUMMARY:Evening Book Group May
DESCRIPTION:  \nThis month’s pick is the memoir An Unfinished Love Story: A Personal History of the 1960s by Doris Kearns Goodwin\, one of America’s most beloved historians\, artfully weaves together biography\, memoir\, and history. She takes you along on the emotional journey she and her husband\, Richard (Dick) Goodwin\, embarked upon in the last years of his life. \nDick and Doris Goodwin were married for forty-two years and married to American history even longer. In his twenties\, Dick was one of the brilliant young men of John F. Kennedy’s New Frontier. In his thirties he both named and helped design Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society and was a speechwriter and close advisor to Robert Kennedy. Doris Kearns was a twenty-four-year-old graduate student when selected as a White House Fellow. She worked directly for Lyndon Johnson and later assisted on his memoir. \nOver the years\, with humor\, anger\, frustration\, and in the end\, a growing understanding\, Dick and Doris had argued over the achievements and failings of the leaders they served and observed\, debating the progress and unfinished promises of the country they both loved. \nBooks may be purchased in store for a 10% discount or online at Bookshop.org
